Welcome to BMAM’s newest president and board member!

The 2025 election results are in, and the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine is pleased to welcome two new faces to the organization.

Steve Bixby was elected as BMAM’s new president. The Round Pond resident takes over from Mama Beth Revels, a founding member of BMAM and a driving force for the organization for the entirety of our 30-year history. Steve is no stranger to Maine’ bluegrass community: In addition to handling bass and vocal duties for the Katahdin Valley Boys for the past 16 years, Steve is a near-constant presence at jams, festivals and shows around the state. We’re thrilled to welcome Steve as our president, and can’t wait to see how BMAM continues to grow under the Bixby administration!

Bill Holden was elected to a two-year term on BMAM’s board of directors. A North Yarmouth resident and life-long Mainer, Bill has been involved in the bluegrass community for more than two decades. In addition to being a regular at jams in the Portland area—including BMAM’s monthly Southern Jam in Yarmouth—Bill plays dobro in Cumberland Crossing. After a decades-long career at L.L.Bean, Bill is happily retired and enjoys spending time with his wife, Stacey, and their kids and grandkids. And if he’s not with his family, he’s adventuring in the great outdoors. Please join us in welcoming Bill to the BMAM board!
