Portland-based mandolinist Joe K. Walsh, praised by David Grisman and Darol Anger as one of the finest in his field, is known for his rich tone, thoughtful playing, and collaborations with top acoustic artists. He’s toured internationally and currently performs with groups like Mr Sun, the Mike Block Trio, and in various duo and trio projects. A respected educator, Joe is an associate professor at Berklee and teaches at camps and workshops across the U.S. and Europe.

Joe’s new album Trust and Love is a set of instrumental “love songs” — melodic vignettes built on close listening and subtle interplay. Featuring Rich Hinman, Zack Hickman, John Mailander, Bobby Britt, Dave Brophy, and Joe on mandolin-family instruments, it champions a “less is more” approach to bluegrass and folk.
