Breakin’ Strings is a New England–based bluegrass band that formed 20 years ago, took a 10-year hiatus, and returned with renewed energy under the leadership of Cliff Gelina alongside some of the region’s finest musicians. Known for their hard-driving sound, powerful ballads, and tight harmonies, they’ve drawn comparisons to artists like Chris Stapleton and Dan Tyminski while keeping crowds dancing and engaged. Since releasing their debut album in 2022, they’ve performed at the IBMA Ramble Showcase, dropped singles including “Stones,” “Willow Tree,” and “95,” and are finishing their new album Homegrown recorded in Portland, ME.
